I just now noticed that my gender not specified classification has automatically rolled me over to list my gender as Androgynous. In some sense, that is fitting, given that I simply declined to answer the question the first time, but now I am assigned to the Androgynous category. Which for some people will mean that we simply decided not to fill out the form, for others, it will be a declaration of being off the gender binary, and yet others still will actually choose it because they identify as androgynous. While I'm sure this will stir up bees in at least a few bonnets, I just found it to be a curious change for the site to take. I still think it would be more fitting for me to state that I've merely not specified my gender. I opted to not choose in the first place, which is probably more telling about my personality than if I'd merely fallen into the androgynous category, haha.
Well, guess I'll just roll with it then. Though it's probably going to either light up more conversation and discussion in my message center about gender politics, and potentially cause people to avoid further discussion with me due to an assumption that I specifically chose to be listed as Androgynous. Let's see where this goes, I suppose.
